About the Author
An award-winning screenwriter and playwright, Claudia Johnson is the author of the widely adopted text CRAFTING SHORT SCREENPLAYS THAT CONNECT. Her critically acclaimed memoir STIFLED LAUGHTER: ONE WOMAN'S STORY ABOUT FIGHTING CENSORSHIP was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and won the inaugural PEN/Newman's Own First Amendment Award. Her writing partner, Matt Stevens, has sold both fiction and non-fiction scripts and worked as a script analyst for Creative Artists Agency and other entertainment companies. He has produced biographies for E! Entertainment Television and is a contributing writer for E! Online and numerous new-media outlets. Short films he directed have screened nationally and internationally and won numerous awards, including the Student Emmy for comedy. Two of Claudia Johnson & Matt Stevens' screenplays were 2002 Sundance Screenwriters Lab finalists.
