New Word Order: Transnational Themes in Book History

Details: In recent years, book historians have begun to look beyond the boundaries of the nations-state, and to consider how a transnational perspective might help to measure a fuller reach of the book's histories and geographies. The transnational turn in the book history questions previously fixed historiographic categories and opens up new spaces in which the study of the book may be composed. This collection brings together essays from some of the leading practitioners in the field, and configures the book as an entity which refuses to respect national boundaries and is truly without frontier.
